We are a totally inclusive Parish in the

Diocese of New York where all are welcome.

THRIFT SHOP:  For the size of our parish, we have enormous outreach programs. In addition to a very active Thrift Store, we have a daily Soup Kitchen, all staffed by volunteers. Last year, we gave away 2000 winter coats to needy people in a cold climate as well as donating clothing and furniture to the truly destitute. When fire eliminated an apartment complex, we reclothed and refurnished two apartments for needy folks. Clothing that does not sell generally is donated to other charitable organizations.

SOUP KITCHEN:  Last year, our Soup Kitchen served 18,000 meals. No questions are ever asked about need. The meals are prepared by a host of volunteers from Christ Church as well as other churches and synagogues in Suffern. Hot meals are served Monday through Saturday and a bagged meal is prepared on Sunday. Even when the weather is severe such as in a blizzard, we manage to stay open for those truly hungry. For seven years the Soup Kitchen has been ably run by our Soup Kitchen Coordinator, Connie Maslik.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS: We have three meetings each week of Alcoholics Anonymous. Each meet in the stage area at 7:30 PM. Monday (English), Tuesday & Wednesday (Spanish).

SENIOR COMPUTER CLASSES:  We also have dedicated a room now filled with PCs and MACs that we used to get Senior Citizens involved in becoming comfortable with the basics of using computers. These are small classes held one morning a week in which Fr. Cranston demonstrates how to use a mouse, how to edit, save, delete and print text. Internet and email packages are also shown. Our next class begins during October in the Computer Lab, Education Building.

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASSES:  As need arises, we have a bilingual teacher instructing folks in English as a Second Language. These classes take place on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Last year, we had 30 students participate in Matilde's terrific classes.
