FillerText=====>We believe that to be in Christ, we must be a family made up of highly diverse people with greatly varied backgrounds. We celebrate our love of God in many many -- through worship, education, mission, outreach and fellowship. As a family, we not only gather around the Lord's Table on Sunday mornings but we also share time together outdoors enjoying our beautiful grounds. We believe all are Children of God and welcome to become members of the Church. We are a family made of many different and lovely parts. We are diverse in terms of age, race, sex and sexuality, ethnicity and places of origin. Some of us are "high church" and some "low church." A few are "cradle-Anglicans", but most of us are not, having converted as adults to the Episcopal Church.
TWO LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP: Episcopal Members of Christ Church. Our members are those who are comfortable with our theology, our ethos, our religious and intellectual freedom and who wish to be dedicated, through this Parish, to God in Christ, and to worship as a confirmed member in the Episcopal Church. These regular worshipers are baptized in some branch of Christ's Church and have attended Inquirers' Classes or Confirmation Classes in preparation for presentation to the Bishop for confirmation. If the person is already confirmed in the Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox Church, they are received into this branch of Christ's Church since the theology is nearly identical with the Anglican Communion' theology.
OTHER THAN EPISCOPAL MEMBERS. We welcome into full membership anyone who wishes to make Christ Church their home. Membership is open to all, and entitles one to participate fully in all areas of the Parish. We ask that you be baptized in this or some other church in order to receive communion on a regular basis. However, you can be a member without becoming a Confirmed or Received Member of the Episcopal Church.
And we welcome all who wish to be with us as they seek a church home. We will never pressure you to become a member at either of the levels just mentioned. You may stay with us as long as you wish and for the time you feel comfortable in our presence.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about our Church is invited to schedule a private appointment with Fr. Cranston by calling the Rector's Secretary at 845-357-1615.
Our life comes together at monthly parish dinners where all are welcome, especially children. We often take turns preparing the formal meals during the colder months and our opening and closing informal dinners are outside on the lawn when also play croquette and badminton. We feel we are living out the words of an old American Hymn when we demonstrate to the people of our town that In Christ there is no East nor West, in Him no South nor North, but one great fellowship of Love throughout the whole wide earth. <=====Filler Text
